The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), commonly referred to as JEE Main, is a national-level entrance test conducted for admission into B. Tech and B.Arch programs.
It provides opportunities for candidates to secure seats in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and various other reputed national-level colleges and universities. Additionally, JEE Main serves as the eligibility test for the JEE Advanced examination.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) introduced several major changes for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026, which are listed below:
- Candidate’s live photo will be captured through the laptop or computer webcam during the application process.
- The details of Candidates, such as name, photograph and date of birth, will be verified using Aadhaar e-KYC.
- The exam city will be allocated based on the candidate’s Aadhaar address.
- Digital tools are introduced to assist the candidates with disabilities with features like a magnifier with options to switch between normal and dark modes for enhanced visibility.
