EXAM PREPARATION

Exams made easy: TN 12th Physics 5 marks question bank.

Learning a five-mark question and presenting it in the answer sheet is often a tough nut to crack. Sometimes, we forget the whole answer, and sometimes a major part of it. It will definitely reduce the marks. In the Tamil Nadu class 12 physics exam, the questions are mostly direct, but it is in our hands to present the answer perfectly to score full marks. With the right tips and tricks, you can score 25 out of 25 in 5-mark questions.

This blog is a roadmap for the preparation of the TN Class 12 Physics exam. It will give you the strategies to be followed while writing the exam, and a PDF is attached to this to help you in the exam preparation. The PDF contains curated unit-wise five-mark questions for the TN Class 12 Physics exam.

Key Components to follow:

  • The answer should be complete and well-structured.
  • If the question is a numerical problem followed by a concept, both should be written to obtain 5 marks.
  • Each step should be written while writing a derivation. Leaving a single step would decrease marks.

For diagram-based questions:

  • Draw the diagram clearly and large so that the examiner can see it easily without any difficulty.
  • Always label the parts legibly on your diagrams.

For example, when drawing a circuit diagram in a Physics exam, start drawing the common and mandatory components like the battery, ammeter, and voltmeter. Label these basic parts immediately. Then, add and label the main components of the experiment (e.g., the rheostat or the diode). This methodical process ensures you never forget to label the essential components of the circuit, which are crucial for scoring full marks.

Conceptual questions:

  • The conceptual questions are asked in the Physics exam. For Example, write a note on the electron microscope.

If similar questions are asked in the exam, elaborate 4 major components. They are,

  • Principle
  • Construction ( With diagram)
  • Working
  • Conclusion (Draw a graph if required).

These are the most important components to be written while writing a conceptual question. This method will fetch you full five marks in the TN Class 12 Physics exam.

General tips: TN class 12 Physics 5 marks

  • 5 questions should be answered. Each question carries 5 marks.
  • Every 5-mark question comes with an either/or choice.
  • Time component:
    • If it is a pure 5 mark question, allot 10 minutes for a question.
    • If the question comes in a 3m+2m format, split your time according to the questions asked.
  • Possible types of questions in TN 12th Physics:
    • Derivations
    • Theories and laws
    • Classifications and explanations
    • Experiments and their conditions
    • Working method and principle
    • Numerical problems: While solving a problem, don’t forget to mention the given data, formula, substitution steps and write the answer along with the SI Units.

Most important and repeated 5 marks:

  1. Electric field due to an electric dipole at points on the axial line
  2. Write a note on the Van de Graff Generator.
  3. Wheatstone’s bridge.
  4. Derive an expression for the magnetic field due to a long straight conductor carrying current
  5. Explain Maxwell’s equation in an integral form.
  6. Explain Fizeau’s method to determine the speed of light.
  7. Explain the working principle and working of the electron microscope.
  8. State and prove De Morgan’s first and second theorems.

You will definitely score 25 out of 25 in 5 marks if you implement all these tips and tricks while preparing and presenting the TN Class 12 Physics exam.
