Tricks to score full in 3 marks:

Three-mark questions in the Tamil Nadu Board exam pattern are a bridge between 2marks and 5 marks. The answers to these questions need to be clear and precise, and their length depends on the question. There are some tricks to follow while writing a 3-mark question.

i) Comprehend the concepts in physics:

While writing the answer for a 3-mark question, Concept clarity is so important. The student must grasp a clear idea of the question asked. The answers shouldn’t be too lengthy or too short. The answer should be clear and concise. For example, if the question is about the properties of electromagnetic waves, the student can write their properties alone. There is no need to explain what electromagnetic waves are, and at the same time, they should write all the properties of electromagnetic waves. It is important to comprehend the concept and answer accurately.

ii) Master the formulas:

Missing a formula leads to missing marks. Have you heard it? Yes, formulas have the power to increase as well as decrease your marks. In Physics, Formulas play a vital role. All the equations and derivations come with formulas. It is important to keep all the formulas at your fingertips. Instead of memorising the formulas, understand them. It will help you remember it whenever needed.

iii) Possible types of Questions

The possible types of questions that can be asked in three marks are,

  • Theory explanations
  • Derivations
  • Applications
